Happy New Year!

Well, I am very pleased to report that I was allowed the privilege of spending Christmas with my husband! YEAH!!! :) It was great! I didn't go to any holiday parties, but instead spent most of the day/night enjoying each other's company and eating with silverware (not flatware) in dining facility (DFAC) 1. The DFAC workers created a lovely rendition of the nativity scene with farm animals and a huge dinosaur with bloody teeth -- quite amusing. He worked during the days and I slept most of the mornings, then went in to work with him in the afternoons until he was finished. I met most of the people he works with and they all had good things to say about him. The Green Beans Coffee shop there was my favorite! It had typical coffee shop music playing and indoor seating. I had a spiced chai latte, and he had a triple expresso chai latte. On one of my last nights there we went to the theater to see Domino. It wasn't bad. The theater was two stories with surround sound and a subway shop on the top floor and ice cream shop on the bottom. I might have gained 5lbs just being around all the food other than what the DFAC serves! It was yummy and we had lots of time together. What a blessing. I know that is more than we would have hoped for, but maybe next time we will get deployed together at the same location. The jobs that we have are similar to what we would be doing otherwise with a few added dangers of course. But it won't be that way always. We are interested in advancing in our military careers together so that we get what we originally wanted out of this all. So for our new year's resolutions is just that -- be together and do more to reach our full potential.

What did you do over the holidays? Do you have a New Year's resolution?
